About Me

I am interested with the profile need for driving a team of QA/QC, QMS, EMS, Application Development, R&D, Technical Services, Business Development professionals, a lead responsibility at O&E project & corporate location, a strategic decision maker, in turn bringing the change through systems and observe a clear improvements in operation, quality, safety and performance.


Introduction: I am a Graduate in Industrial Engg, PG in Polymer Technology & Certified ISO Lead Auditor since 1996, highly experienced professional with proven competencies, specifically in the functional areas of QA, QC, QMS, EMS and Technical Services in Oil and Gas (both Petroleum & Petrochemicals) industry. Being a team leader, I have handled over 15 projects right from start to end, i.e. from project studies, initialization, costing, nominating the contractors, vendor selection, land development, engineering, procurement actual construction, erection and up to pre-commissioning & commissioning, set-up, trials, capacity optimization, etc; I think about 25 years of my experience would add value to any operation.


Project base exp: Worked with the projects for setting up a refinery of 6 Billion US$ with RIL, Jamanagar India, Finolex Petrochemical Complex in Ranpar, MS, India, Reliance Petrochemical Complex, Hazira, Gujrat, India, and Saudi Aramco in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These projects in India were for the new establishment set-up of petrochemical products i.e. from base raw material as Ethylene to EDC-VCM-PVC, to MEG/DEG/TED/PEG, to Polyethylene, to Polypropylene and set-up of supply & distribution function of petroleum products including terminal and retail outlet along with information management system (using SAP) and QA/QC, QMS, EMS. In KSA the projects were 1) Up-gradation of SRU by raising sulfur recovery from 95.0 to 98.7% for two plants i.e. 10 product lines (Uthmaniyah & Shedgum), US$ 2 Billion, (2) Replace obsolete electricals & upgrade process control system (Abqaiq), US$ 200 Million, etc.


Manufacturing base exp: Worked with reputed MNC's in India like Reliance (Petroleum & Petrochemicals), Finolex (Petrochemicals), Garware (Polyester Mfgg), and Cosmo (PP Mfgg). My career experience is in the fields like QC/QA, Laboratory Set-up, Method Set-up, Equipment ordering, set-up, calibration techniques & trouble-shooting, QMS establishment and ISO Certification, actual analytical mind with hands on exposure to most sophisticated micro-processor based testing aids like, GC, GPC, HPLC, AAS, XRFS, GCMS, LCMS, etc and reporting techniques, Functional Set up, Customer Services, Application Development, Research. During these years I have also used specific tools like Six Sigma, Lean Mfgg, SPC/SQC, Kaizen, PDCA, 5P/5S, etc as per the requirement for training and execution.


Recently, being a core team member & Corporate Consultant at Reliance Industries Limited, we have commissioned an only-for-export refinery, a project of 6 Billion US$, in just 36 months at rock-bottom prices to create the world's largest refining hub at Jamnagar in India, capacity is 580,000 barrel a day (29 million tonnes a year) refinery adjacent to its earlier refining facility existing 33 million tonne per annum refinery. The two units together will be the world's largest refining complex with an aggregate processing capacity of 1.24 million barrels of oil per day. Crude refining has been started from 25th Dec '08, unit-wise capacity optimization is over, first few dispatches are also commenced and we are working on expansion project of PP and Cracker, but I can be free to move on to the next challenging assignment.
